That seems like a lot of bathing. Guinea pigs are generally clean animals and will groom/bathe themselves, like cats. Most people will bathe their pigs about twice a year. Make sure your not drying out your piggies skin though.

Baby shampoo should be ok, but I would just use regular water, or look online to special buy guinea pig shampoo. You can use hay as bedding, though it's not very soft. I use about half hay as bedding, and half pine bedding. A lot of people say pine is bad, but I have had no problems with it, ever. Aspen is also a popular choice. I have been meaning to start using shredded newspaper to save some money each month on bedding.
