5 Frequent Errors Experienced By Beginner Affiliate Web Marketers

The top rated 5 frequent errors undergone by new affiliates will be described as well as strategies on the ideal technique to succeed over it.

You have only just subscribed with this particular spectacular cutting edge affiliate marketing system. They?ve got wonderful products and services, free affiliate marketing websites, education, pre-made ads that you need to replicate and also the finest compensation program on the web. This really is basically the best online affiliate marketing plan on the net! Run a number of ads and you are soon on your way to turning out to be the upcoming web zillionaire. Right?

Before you get up and running on that huge estate over the hill, read on for a few challenges quite a few newbie online affiliate marketers have to deal with that you?ll desire to keep clear of.

1. Buying into the Buzz

And indeed, I actually do mean the hoopla publicized by your personal program. Most of those revenue forecasts which just about every software program makes are just that, predictions. You might generate that much. Will you inside your first couple of months using the strategy? Probably not. Take a look at this like a long term investment within your future, not a get wealthy rapid strategy. Believe in yourself as well as your capacity to recognize your hopes and dreams. However don?t believe the hype.

2. Hoping for Quick Success without Making the Time and Effort

Count on operating on, in and at your business. And count on to work at it daily. For example should you had started your very own individual community retail store, you would have to to go in to carry out every day duties and responsibilities, correct? You would anticipate having to promote your business and get individuals to visit your store. So, you just started your own brand new web-based store, what are you intending to carry out right now to make it lucrative? Just how are you intending to get men and women to go look into your product or service?

3. Lack of a Strategy and Precise Objectives

You have most likely heard the saying, plan your work and work your plan. You?ll need to follow a specific technique and have clear, measurable targets. A great deal of folks join affiliate programs with just a vague goal of wanting to produce loads of money. Just how much money? How swiftly do you wish it? (Try be logical here, generating a million dollars in one particular month is just not realistic.) Okay, you might have got your clear, specific objective now. Now how are you currently going to make it take place? Again, consider clear, distinct actions to take right here.

4. Advertising and Marketing your Affiliate Link

Wait a minute, if you don?t advertise your affiliate link, just how are you currently supposed to make sales and get downline members? Create your own personal web page which has a link for the affiliate plan you are picking out to promote. Each and every single affiliate for the program you are promoting gets specifically the same internet website which you do. You have got to put yourself in a position to make yourself distinctive and stand out from everyone else. The way you do that is is with your personal private website.

5. Quitting

You?ve been working your affiliate advertising and marketing program for two, three, maybe even four months now with not a great deal to show for it. You?re becoming disillusioned and beginning to wonder if this might be worth it after all. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and concentrate on what you need to focus on to keep moving forward. Continue to grow and learn. Bother your mentor as well as your upline members until they start assisting you and changing your life. No matter what don?t stop. Nobody ever attained outcomes and achievement by quitting. And you will not either. So get busy!! You can make it happen!

Umbrella Insurance Coverage ? Worth A Look - MS Estate Planning

[The Wealthy] are more likely to be sued, but excess personal liability insurance doesn't have to cost a fortune.

It's safe to say that, if there's a risk out there, there's also an insurance underwriter somewhere dying to write a policy for it. However, if you are especially affluent or risk-prone, excess personal liability insurance ("umbrella insurance coverage") can be a helpful safeguard.

Any trial attorney will confirm one unshakeable truth - money attracts unwanted attention. Unfortunately, in our litigious society, all it takes is one particularly obstinate person out to "get the rich" to team up with a less-than-scrupulous attorney and make it their mission to ruin your life with a frivolous lawsuit. This was the subject of a recent article in Financial Planning titled "Covering Up."

Not only will you pay for your defense, but juries can also be unfair. In an era of class envy, you may get a jury that wants to help one of its own a "lawsuit lottery" at your expense. To help mitigate the risk of a lawsuit judgment, consider taking out umbrella insurance coverage just in case.

Internet Marketing Center - Bargain Network Online Blog

Starting your own home business is a wonderful way to make money. Being your own boss, answering to yourself and only yourself and making all the money you could ever need. However this also means it is easy to fail. Without a boss breathing down your neck and co-workers depending on you, it is exceptionally easy to slack off and not do your work properly.

This is why a good internet marketing center is essential to your success. You have to keep yourself motivated and come up with a good system that will allow you to focus on your work and be diligent about it. When dealing with the internet, a lot of people go in with unrealistic expectations.

They expect to make thousands of dollars overnight with virtually no effort. This will not happen. This hype is a major pitfall that gets a lot of people who try to work online. What people seem to forget is that just because it is the internet does not mean it is not a real business. It is. It requires just as much devotion as any other business.

If you can not provide the necessary time and effort into building up and expanding your business, then you will fail. However if you are able to grow your business and make it into an internet marketing center from which you can generate all the income you could ever want, then you will succeed.

Another trap that gets a lot of people is their own lack of focus. If you just poke at your website occasionally and do not do any real work, then it will obviously not grow. And yet so many people do this because they lack the necessary focus to just sit down and get to work.

A good way to overcome this is to set yourself specific work hours. For example, working from one to four every day. By giving yourself set hours for when you work, you can plan your day around that and will not have to worry about distractions while trying to work.

If you are working a full time job or have a family to attend to, this can be difficult. Remember that you do not have to work at it for hours on end. While it will grow faster the more you work at it, as long as you are consistent it will still grow. So if you do not have that much spare time, as long as you use that spare time you can still make your business a success.

Working on the internet is great, but it requires a lot of dedication and self discipline, far more than working at a conventional job. As you have nobody to rely on but yourself. However if you are able to overcome these obstacles and force yourself to focus and work at your business, you can grow it into a large internet marketing center.

You just have to remember that it takes time and not to get discouraged from the apparent lack of progress. It will make money as long as you work at it.

Christine Marinoni and Cynthia Nixon: Married!

Former Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon is now a married woman.

The actress exchanged vows over the weekend with Christine Marinoni, the woman to whom she got engaged three years ago during a rally to support same-sex marriage in New York. A bill allowing for just that was passed in the summer of 2011.

Christine Marinoni and Cynthia Nixon Photo

Confirms Nixon's rep to People:

"On May 27, 2012, Cynthia Nixon and her girlfriend, Christine Marinoni, were legally married in the state of New York. Nixon wore a custom dress by Carolina Herrera."

Nixon - who has two children from a previous relationship and one with Marinoni, an education activist - created a stir earlier this year when she said homosexuality is a choice. She then went on to amend the statement and explain she was only referring to her own experience.

Old aerial photos supply new knowledge on glaciers in Greenland

Old aerial photos supply new knowledge on glaciers in Greenland [ Back to EurekAlert! ] Public release date: 29-May-2012

The glaciers in southeast Greenland are retreating rapidly with the ongoing global climate change. But now research from the University of Copenhagen shows that the glaciers can recuperate within a short timeframe if temperatures are to drop. The results are based on a collection of Danish aerial photos combined with both old and modern satellite imagery as well as field work. The scientific results have created international attention and have been published as a cover story in the highly esteemed journal Nature Geoscience.

"We have managed to get an overview of the glacial evolution over a period of 80 years. This is the first time ever this has been done in a study of glaciers in Greenland. Results show that glaciers can recuperate within a short time frame if climate changes and temperatures drop, as it has in a period after the 1940s," says PhD student and lead-author on the project Anders Bjrk, from Professor Eske Willerslev's Centre for GeoGenetics from University of Copenhagen.

Anders Bjrk adds:

"Most of the scientific foundation, models, and theories on glaciers in Greenland and how global warming affects them are based on observations from satellites over the last ten years. Otherwise scientists have had to use previous warming events way into the past when wanting to compare today's massive retreat."

A fight for land between Denmark and Norway

The Danish explorer Knud Rasmussen and his seventh Thule-expedition in 1932-33 is a significant cause for the recent publication from Anders Bjrk and Dr. Kurt H. Kjr from the Natural History Museum of Denmark, University of Copenhagen. Results have created international attention as Greenland stands as an important region for northern latitudes are affecting the rest of the earth's climate including changes in glacial conditions and related sea-level rise.

Originally, the many aerial photos, which have been achieved Danish National Survey and Cadastre, were used for producing new maps of the region in the early 1930s, as Denmark and Norway were fighting over the right of disposal of East Greenland, a fight without casualties which Denmark won at the International Court in Haag in the Netherlands in 1933.

Photos get a renaissance

With help from the scientists and the Danish National Survey and Cadastre, the unique aerial photos have now gained a renaissance in a different setting where climate change and theories as "The Tipping Point" where nature reaches a point where changes cannot be reversed are discussed.

"We have investigated no less than 132 glaciers on a 600 km coastal stretch in Southeast Greenland, both those who terminate on land and those who calve in the ocean. The historical photos have proven to be extremely valuable, and with these photos and other aerial photos recorded later during WWII and satellite imagery we are able to observe glacier change in very long historical context. In the early 1920s and 1930s, temperatures were high, similar to that of the present, and this affected the glacial melt. At the time many glaciers underwent a melt similar or even higher than what we have seen in the last ten years. When it became colder again in the 1950s and 1960s, glaciers actually started growing," says Dr. Kurt H. Kjr and underlines:

"There should be no doubt that if the current temperature rise in Greenland continues then we will have problems with the melting of the glaciers. We are already seeing it now on the marine terminating glaciers where changes in temperature and ocean currents are influencing their stability. Another remarkable discovery we did was that the observed changes are not just local, it is happening in the entire region," says Dr. Kjr.

Kurt H. Kjr has previously worked with his colleague Svend Funder from Center for GeoGenetics on investigating sea ice extent in the Arctic Ocean. Results showed that the sea ice extent has been far from stable throughout the last 10,000 years.

elliott - Tracking the Results of Online Advertising ? Chocolate ...

As with all promoting campaign you may run to help your business, it is important to trace the results of the Net marketing and advertising marketing campaign. This should really be done on the continuous foundation so you could assure the techniques you happen to be utilizing are working. It may also allow you to to establish when a technique isn?t working so you do not proceed to invest time and dollars on the approach which is not advantageous to your company. This short article will go over many of the possibilities for tracking the results of the Web advertising marketing campaign.

Small business owners who use banner ads have a very simple approach to observe no matter if or not their banner ads are productive. This is possible because they are able to place code within the banner ad that will provide them with responses every time a consumer clicks about the banner advertisement. This information and facts is transmitted to the enterprise proprietor so he can assess which of his banner advertisements are generating the most fascination. When the enterprise proprietor is at the moment using two distinctive designs of banner advertisements on similar sites he can use this facts to determine which design is most successful. This is essential simply because if one fashion is substantially additional helpful than the other it may be worthwhile to convert all the banner advertisements to this fashion or to produce modifications that will make the two distinctive types a lot more equivalent.

If the company proprietor is applying the same banner advert on a number of diverse websites, the comments can support him decide which internet websites are producing by far the most site visitors for him. If he determines some internet websites will not be generating an awesome deal of site visitors it tends to make sensation to discontinue the banner advertisements on these websites as they?re not price effective.

Business proprietors who use affiliate advertising throughout their Web advertising and marketing marketing campaign may well also be considering monitoring the results in their affiliates. Similarly if you are operating various unique designs of ads, some styles could attract more attention than other individuals but you can not be able to differentiate basically by evaluating your web page traffic and revenue. Another four might only be producing minimal fascination within your items or solutions. In the event you wish to make use of this approach for evaluating the responses on your World-wide-web marketing and advertising efforts, it can be worthwhile to only make one change at a time so you may a lot more correctly determine what is operating and what?s not. Orion clean room subs filters, fans for ceiling

ScienceDaily (May 28, 2012) ? Turns out a clean room doesn't necessarily need a roof, NASA is finding out as it tries out a design that could be assembled around the Orion spacecraft as it is prepared for launch in the Vehicle Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The key to the concept, developed by Astrotech, is two 10-foot-high walls of filter-equipped fans positioned 30 feet apart to push and pull the air in one direction across the capsule, keeping particles from settling on the spacecraft's surface.

A set of clear walls completes the box, but there is no ceiling. That's important because engineers want to use the large cranes already in the VAB to lift the Orion spacecraft and its shell into place as it is assembled on top of the Space Launch System rocket. If they have to build a clean room with its own crane, the cost would be much higher.

"The guys over in the Operations and Checkout Building are using this and that's what gave us the idea," said Doug Lenhardt, an engineer with NASA's Ground Systems Development and Operations Program. "It's pretty innovative, so we'll see if it works."

The test, which involves a room built around a full-scale Orion model, has been running for two weeks on the floor of High Bay 3 in the VAB and will continue another two to three weeks.

"The results have been encouraging," Lenhardt said. "We don't have the full story yet, but it's been encouraging.

The demands of a clean room in the VAB are not nearly as strict as those in the Operations and Checkout Building hangar where the Orion capsule will be built. In fact, the technicians in the O&C are already working with a similar setup to build the capsule components into a working spacecraft. Because even a slight contaminant can create problems inside a capsule, the O&C's entire high bay is kept to high cleanliness standards with the area around Orion given an extra layer of protection.

In the VAB, the requirement is to keep visible contaminants, such as specks of dirt and dust, off the outside of the capsule.

It may not sound like a big deal for something that will be exposed to space, but an earthly bit of pollen or sand or even a human hair can confuse a star tracker, lead to a build up around an exhaust port or block a thruster, for example.

And there are lots of particles looking for a place to settle in the VAB, especially when the doors are open and wind is swirling around.

"Conditions in the VAB are bad. It is much worse than being outside," said Walt Turner, senior integration engineer with Sierra Lobo. "It's like we have a dust creator."

The amount of particles in the VAB surprised John Weeks, an operations engineer overseeing the clean room evaluation.

Needle-free device could deliver powdered drugs

"You'll just feel a sharp sting..." No, don't look away, because these words may soon be a thing of the past. A needleless device that jets medicine through the skin could bring an end to painful injections. It could also provide developing countries with a way to deliver powdered drugs, which do not require refrigeration.

There are several needleless systems already on the market, which use explosive forces to eject a liquid drug through a narrow opening at pressures high enough to penetrate the skin. However, they are designed to eject the drug in an "all or nothing" fashion, releasing the same amount of medicine to the same depth every time.

To counter this limitation, Ian Hunter and Nora Hogan at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, together with Andrew Taberner at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, developed a device based on a "Lorentz force" mechanism.

This consists of a coiled wire that is wrapped around a powerful magnet at one end and attached to a piston at the other. When a current is applied to the wire it interacts with the magnet, pushing the piston forwards. This in turn pushes a liquid drug through a hole the width of a mosquito's proboscis and into the skin. The force can be controlled by varying the current applied to the coil, which allows precise control over dose and depth.

Targeted drugs

Because existing needleless devices offer less control they generally deliver less of the drug to the target site. In some cases, say Hunter's team, just 10 per cent of the drug reaches the correct tissue. Their tests in animal tissue showed that the new device delivers more than 80 per cent of the drug to the target.

The team is now working on adding a vibratory mechanism to their device to allow it to transform powdered drugs into a form suitable for injection. "If you vibrate a powder the drug crystals jiggle around, become energised and behave in a similar way to a fluid," says Hunter.

If successful, their device could help increase the availability of drugs in the developing world, because powdered drugs are more stable than liquid drugs at room temperature ? liquid drugs must be refrigerated to keep them stable. "It's early days but we're pretty excited," says Hunter.

Stunning image of smallest possible five rings

ScienceDaily (May 28, 2012) ? Scientists have created and imaged the smallest possible five-ringed structure -- about 100,000 times thinner than a human hair -- and you'll probably recognize its shape.

A collaboration between the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), the University of Warwick and IBM Research -- Zurich has allowed the scientists to bring a single molecule to life in a picture, using a combination of clever synthetic chemistry and state-of-the-art imaging techniques.

The scientists decided to make and visualize olympicene whose five-ringed structure was entered on ChemSpider, the RSC's free online chemical database of over 26 million records two years ago.

"When doodling in a planning meeting, it occurred to me that a molecular structure with three hexagonal rings above two others would make for an interesting synthetic challenge," said Professor Graham Richards CBE, RSC Council member.

"I wondered: could someone actually make it, and produce an image of the actual molecule?"

Chemists at the University of Warwick, Dr David Fox and Anish Mistry, used some clever synthetic organic chemistry -- the modern molecule designer's toolbox -- to build olympicene.

"Alongside the scientific challenge involved in creating olympicene in a laboratory, there's some serious practical reasons for working with molecules like this," said Dr Fox.

"The compound is related to single-layer graphite, also known as graphene, and is one of a number of related compounds which potentially have interesting electronic and optical properties.

"For example these types of molecules may offer great potential for the next generation of solar cells and high-tech lighting sources such as LEDs."

A first glimpse of the molecule's structure was obtained by Dr Giovanni Costantini and Ben Moreton at Warwick using scanning tunneling microscopy. A higher resolution technique was however needed to unravel its atomic-level anatomy.

To truly bring olympicene to life, the Physics of Nanoscale Systems Group at IBM Research -- Zurich in Switzerland analyzed the chemical structure of olympicene with unprecedented resolution using a complex technique known as noncontact atomic force microscopy. Using the technique IBM scientists imaged a single olympicene molecule just 1.2 nanometers in width, about 100,000 times thinner than a human hair.

"The key to achieving atomic resolution was an atomically sharp and defined tip apex as well as the very high stability of the system," explains IBM scientist Dr. Leo Gross. "We prepared our tip by deliberately picking up single atoms and molecules and showed that it is the foremost tip atom or molecule that governs the contrast and resolution of our AFM measurements."

This technique was first published in the journal Science back in August 2009.

The chemical recipes for making olympicene, along with a whole range of other molecules, are posted on the ChemSpider Synthetic Pages (CSSP), where scientists can record and share the best ways to do specific reactions.

How To Buy A Cap

A cap is a statement you make to the world, about your team affiliation, about your hobbies, or about your style. There are hundreds of variations of caps on the market from which to choose.

Types of caps

Cap styles run the gamut from the traditional baseball cap to the Gilligan cap. Choosing the proper one for you depends on your style.

Fitted

  • Fitted caps are the traditional caps like the Major League Baseball players wear
  • They are usually made of 100% wool with a structured front and a higher profile
  • Fitted caps are sized to your head

Adjustable

  • Adjustable caps are the most popular caps today because they can be adjusted to fit any size head
  • They are made with many different materials including wool, cotton, and mesh
  • They also have many different types of closure systems including plastic snaps, leather straps with a buckle, and velcro

Unstructured

  • Unstructured caps look like a traditional baseball cap, but with a soft front that sits lower on the head for a more casual look
  • They are usually available as adjustable caps

Visors

  • Visors are a cap minus the top, they look like a headband with a brim
  • They are usually adjustable, with a rigid brim to shade your eyes
  • They are also good for wearing in hot weather because the top of your head is open, but be careful of the sun's rays

Bucket

  • Some people call this a Gilligan cap because it resembles the old cap worn by the title character on Gilligan's Island
  • Bucket caps come in a variety of fabrics and general sizes which include small, medium, large, and extra large

Cap terms

Caps are actually made up of a number of components.

Bill/Brim

  • The brim protects your face from the sun
  • They are usually made of PVC plastic, sewn inside some type of fabric

Buckram

  • The buckram is the liner inside of the front of the cap that provides the structure and form
  • Unstructured caps have no buckram, giving them the more casual, lower profile

Closure systems

  • A closure system is the system on the back of adjustable caps that allows you to adjust the size
  • Types of closures include plastic, Velcro, fabric snaps and leather bands

Embroidery

  • Embroidery is the stitching that decorates the cap, usually in the front but can be anywhere

Eyelets

  • Eyelets are the little holes scattered throughout the cap that allows your head to breathe
  • They can either be metal or reinforced stitching

Panels

  • Panels are the different pieces, usually six to eight, that make up the top of the cap

Organizers: Don't mess with the Olympic brand

LONDON (AP) ? One day, the small espresso shop near the site of the London Games was the "Olympic" cafe. The next day, it was the "Lympic."

So where did the "O'' go?

The manager won't say. But it's more than likely the small business became another casualty in the battle against guerrilla marketers ? advertisers who try to associate their products with an event without paying to be sponsors.

Protecting the Olympic brand is always a big job, and never more so than this year. Olympic organizers say the increasing sophistication of guerrilla marketers and the rise of social media are putting the five rings under assault in ways barely envisioned a decade ago.

That means action against anyone who infringes the Olympic brand or sponsors' deals ? no matter how small.

"There's no question that the rings are instantly recognizable ? it's what makes it attractive," said Stephen Greyser, an emeritus professor at Harvard Business School.

He compared the efforts by non-sponsors to athletes trying to find loopholes in the rules against performance-enhancing drugs.

"It becomes an industry," he said.

The International Olympic Committee and London organizers raised more than $2.4 billion from the sale of marketing rights in the four years through the 2008 games in Beijing, providing more than 44 percent of their funding during the period.

The rings are among the world's most recognized symbols. Companies like McDonald's, Coca-Cola and Samsung, which pay as much as $100 million each to be official sponsors during each Olympic cycle, expect organizers to protect their rights.

They expect organizers to protect their rights. If others can use the rings and the name "Olympic," why should the big companies pay so much money?

"Without our sponsors, the games simply wouldn't happen," London organizers said in a statement. "They provide funding, products, services and expertise to help us stage the games and with that have purchased exclusivity in their sector."

British lawmakers did their part, passing a law ? described as draconian by critics ? that gives organizers the power to bar companies from using Olympic trademarks and even certain combinations of words ? such as "London 2012" ? that may infringe on the rights of sponsors.

"Where there are serious or deliberate attempts to ambush the Games ... we will take swift and firm action," London organizers added.

But if the crackdown on guerrilla marketers goes too far, it could anger those attending the games or going about their business in London. Organizers will find it hard to tell people they can't wear their Nike T-shirt into Olympic Stadium because adidas is the sportswear partner.

"It's fine to clamp down on the threat, but where it impacts the individual, it's going to be very difficult for (London organizers) to get it right," said Hugh Tebay, a partner at Sipara, a British law firm that specializes in trademark and branding. "If public reaction is too strong, they'll have to backtrack."

Such worries played out during another big international event, the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The Bavaria brewing company outfitted some 30 Dutch women in mini-dresses in its eye-popping trademark orange for the Netherlands' opening game against Denmark. When the ringleaders were caught and authorities in Johannesburg threatened jail, Bavaria agreed to refrain from future marketing ambushes until 2022.

Four years earlier at the 2006 World Cup in Germany, the brewery gave fans orange lederhosen. Guards confiscated the Alpine-inspired pants, forcing hundreds of fans to watch a match in their underwear.

Then there are the infamous cases, such as in 1992, when non-sponsor Nike held news conferences with members of the U.S. basketball team. Michael Jordan, who had an endorsement deal with Nike, accepted his gold medal while covering up the logo of the team's official sponsor, Reebok.

Some companies are already flying close to the sun in London.

The British company Virgin, whose interests include airlines, broadband service and holiday travel, has an ad featuring Jamaican gold medal winner Usain Bolt sporting a silver goatee identical to that of company founder Richard Branson. The campaign pushes Virgin's "super fast" broadband service, skirting the rights of BT, the games' official broadband provider.

Why do otherwise upstanding companies press to see just how far they can push the rules? It's because marketers lie awake at night hoping to link their brand to athletes overcoming all odds to win before a global audience.

The Summer Olympics are valuable because they occur so infrequently ? once every four years ? and the competition includes virtually every country on the planet. Although soccer's World Cup is similar in terms of national fervor, it goes on for longer, diluting its appeal, and it is less popular in that market of markets, the United States, Greyser said.

Unlike a typical sporting event, which attracts mostly men, the Olympics draws in both men and women.

And then there's social media. While Olympic officials previously only had to worry about ads and billboards, now they must also police Facebook, Twitter and blogs. And not just by companies, but by fans and athletes.

Athletes have all sorts of personal endorsement deals, creating more headaches for Olympics organizers. During the games, athletes will be barred from tweeting about sponsors. If they prefer Pepsi to Coke, they had better not say so, at least not in their Twitter feed, according to IOC rules.

It's not clear what would really happen if an athlete as famous as Bolt were to violate those rules. Organizers say they will take a pragmatic approach and that most cases will be dealt with "in an amicable way."

Still, it's a little sad to go by 61 West Ham Lane and see the maroon sign with the "O'' rubbed out.

"We really did put the pressure on," said regulator Steve Miller, who heads a body to standardize local regulations. The group has since stepped away from the branding business.

Cafe workers say the "O'' vanished after they became tired of talking to reporters. But even Miller confessed to being somewhat startled, having wandered by one day to see it missing.

"I thought it had fallen off," he said.

Epic Games Want Next-Gen Power to Be a 'Quantum Leap ...

When a new generation of consoles in announced, the one thing on everybody?s mind is usually ?more power.? Graphics, processing, gameplay; it?s all expected to be better than the current state of gaming, and it?s exactly what everyone is hoping for with upcoming generation as well. While the current group of consoles made a huge improvement over the last, the next jump needs to be even bigger according to Epic Games, the studio behind the infamous Unreal Engine. In a recent interview, Design Director Cliff Bleszinski stated:

?It is up to Epic, and Tim Sweeney in particular, to motivate Sony and Microsoft not to phone in what these next consoles are going to be. It needs to be a quantum leap. They need to damn near render Avatar in real time, because I want it and gamers want it?even if they don?t know they want it.?

Rendering graphics as impressive as Avatar in real time may seem like an impossible feat, but with incredible tech demos being released all the time that show off games running with such graphics, it may not really be that farfetched. Seeing such a drastic change between this generation and the next, however, is very unlikely, as the cost alone to equip every gaming system with such capabilities would be substantial.

The reasoning behind Bleszinski?s statement is clear, as Epic Games is trying to push the use of their always-impressive Unreal 4 engine, which as of right now isn?t able to run on any console. The company has recently released screenshots showing off the amazing graphics that the engine would be able to handle, and the engine will be officially revealed at E3 in June.

US agriculture companies set millions for Africa

(Reuters) - A group of U.S. seed, chemical and equipment companies will invest at least $150 million over the next few years into African agricultural projects and products, the companies said on Friday.

The investments pledged by DuPont, Monsanto, Cargill and others are part of an overall $3 billion effort by companies around the world announced by President Barack Obama.

Along with companies from India, Israel, Switzerland, Norway and the United Kingdom, and 20 companies from Africa, the corporations have committed some $3 billion for projects to help farmers in the developing world build local markets and improve productivity.

The United Nations has said that by 2030, the world will need at least 50 percent more food, 45 percent more energy and 30 percent more water. Absent these resources, it said, up to 3 billion people would probably be condemned into poverty.

Capitalizing on food demand in Africa also holds strong profit potential, corporate leaders said.

"It has been a bit chaotic. There are all sorts of issues around the countries in Africa. But the population, the economic growth, the quality of many of the soils is there," DuPont Executive Vice President Jim Borel told Reuters in an interview. "The need is there, the potential is there."

"We're convinced we can take the base we have now, and accelerate that progress," said Borel, who oversees DuPont's food and nutrition businesses. Among DuPont's units is its Pioneer Hi-Bred International seed company, which has operated in Africa for decades.

India and China are more stable and growing faster, but Africa is "not far behind," according to Borel.

DuPont said it will spend more than $3 million over the next three years focused on Ethiopia, where the company is investing in seed production and storage facilities. It is also developing weed control for wheat farmers there, and creating a soil information system to address soil limitations and boost crop yields.

DuPont's growth plans on the continent are aimed at growing revenue from African business to more than $1 billion within 10 years.

DuPont is also sponsoring development of a food security index, a ranking of 105 countries that analyzes the food security status of each. That index will be rolled out in mid-July.

Monsanto, the world's largest seed company, said it also was committing millions to Africa. Monsanto will invest about $50 million over the next 10 years in several countries to support African agricultural development and growth, officials said.

Monsanto's plans include work in Tanzania on development of corn that uses water more efficiently, and support for development of a network of agro-dealers.

Cargill is investing in two projects in Mozambique focused on increasing grain yields for small farmers and on training and education in farm communities.

AGCO, a U.S.-based farm equipment company, plans to invest $100 million over the next three years to improve farm operations in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya and other African countries.

Among the international players, Norway's Yara International is planning a $2 billion fertilizer production facility in Africa and is spending $20 million to build a port in Tanzania that will help expand its fertilizer delivery network throughout southern Africa.

The Swiss company Syngenta AG said it would invest more than $500 million in Africa. Over the next 10 years, Syngenta expects to build a $1 billion business in Africa.

The push by global corporations to spend more money and develop new markets across Africa comes as an expanding world population and growing demand for quality food threaten to exceed existing limits of agricultural production.

Investors have been buying up farmland in Africa, hoping to make it more productive using modern agricultural technologies. That, combined with the rising interest of international agricultural corporations, has brought criticism.

Advocates for African farmers fear they will lose control over their food supply and markets. They say African farmers are being displaced and unsustainable farm practices are being introduced.

"The problem is all this is based on large-scale commercial agriculture," said Anuradha Mittal, executive director of the Oakland Institute, a policy think tank. "Who does it benefit? All of these things are supporting the formation of large-scale commercial agriculture, which will hurt small farmers. They could spend far less but focus on providing credit facilities, ensuring open markets and ensuring the rights of small holder farmers."

Brick Composite Roofing for Canton, Detroit, and Troy Homes

What do the Cherry Hill United Methodist Church, the buildings in the West Canfield Historic District, and the Troy Historical Museum have in common? Aside from being located in Michigan, all three building complexes are constructed almost entirely of brick.

A brick is a building block made of ceramic. The earliest bricks--found in multiple sites throughout the Near East--were made of shaped mud. The ancient Egyptians, Indus Valley Civilization, and ancient Chinese also used bricks for their building construction. During the Industrial Revolution, brick was in high demand as a building material, even when alternatives like stone were available. Victorian buildings were characterized by bright red bricks, which made the buildings more visible in the London fog. However, by the late 20th century, bricks were mostly confined to low or medium rise buildings.

The most common material used to create bricks is clay. Clay is shaped into bricks through the process of heating and cooling. A brick typically has this composition: 50 to 60 percent silica (sand), 20 to 30 percent alumina (clay), 2 to 5 percent lime (stone), 5 to 6 percent iron oxide; and less than 1 percent magnesia.

Bricks are among the most durable building materials known to mankind. Bricks come in many different colors, which lessen the need for paint. In addition, the versatility of bricks allows more creative freedom. This material also adds a classic touch to buildings and is very porous.

Because bricks are porous, they have strong insulation properties. This makes them ideal for buildings located in areas with humid continental climates like Detroit, Michigan. This type of climate is characterized by extremes in temperatures. Detroit roofing can be composed of asphalt shingles that are firmly pressed onto red bricks. This not only creates an attractive finish, but produces a strong protective barrier.

One suburb in the city of Detroit is Troy. Homeowners in this area may consider using composite materials such as brown brick roof tiles for their Troy roofing. This option is an attractive and durable protective barrier for homes in the suburb.

Brick composite roofing is also a good material for areas with moderate climates like the Charter Township of Canton, located to the west of Detroit. However, you may need the services of a good Canton roofing contractor to maximize the benefits of brick composite roofing.
