(Crain's) ? An accident in Itasca and signal difficulty near Howard Street in Chicago were delaying some CTA and Metra trains Friday morning.
A Metra train hit a car about 6:45 a.m. in west suburban Itasca, a spokesman said. Nobody was hurt, the Chicago Tribune reported.
The accident has resulted in several inbound trains being delayed on the Milwaukee District/West Line. A train slated to arrive downtown at 8:33 is 45 minutes behind and one scheduled to be in at 8:23 is a half-hour delayed, according to Metra's site. A train due into Chicago at 9 a.m. also is 30 minutes behind, Metra says.
The Chicago Transit Authority temporarily stopped service on the Yellow Line, which runs between Skokie and Howard Street. The line, along with the Red and Purple lines, was seeing ?minor delays,? the CTA says on its site.
